Welcome to our blog!

The morning sunrise spread her wings

While the moon hung in the sky

Held the sea in your hands

And happy everafter in your eyes

Couldn't leave you to go to heaven

I carry you in my smile

For the first time my true reflection I see

Happy everafter in your eyes

Every star in the night

Promises the dawn

I will be there if you fall

To ever so heavily rest upon

All that I can give you

Is forever your to keep

Wake up every day with a dream

And happy everafter in your eyes
Happy everafter is in your eyes
(Lyrics to "Happy Ever After in Your Eyes"...the song we danced to at our reception.)

Poop, poop, poop

Since bringing Jackson home almost two weeks ago, we've suffered from sleep deprivation, a loss of any schedule whatsoever, but most of all we've discovered you can look at a little one for hours on end and never grow tired of it. And in the midst of all of this, we've laughed and smiled more than we ever thought possible.

Take for example Jack's first bath at home. Now let me go back a bit here. Since my surgery, it's been a bit painful to laugh, and one night as we were watching a movie, I was finding it hard to not laugh and I told Dan I should come up with a word I could say to replace laughing. Dan jokingly said, "Why don't you say 'poop'" each time. Well, as we started to bathe Jack the next day, I realized I forgot a new diaper. I walked out to get one and when I got back, Jack had peeded directly into Dan's eye and then redirected to hit a picture on the wall at least 4 feet away. (Impressive, eh?) Dan was sitting there laughing and all I could do was say, "poop, poop, poop." Then I realized that I forgot a wash cloth to wash his face with, so I walked out to get it and when I returned, Dan has the same expression on his face as when he peeded. But...it wasn't pee this time...I looked down and in his hand Dan had a handful of...poop. "Poop, poop, poop, poop...!!!" indeed.

Our Little Jack's Birth

It's been awhile since my last post. Jackson Robert was born on April 19th, his daddy's 31st birthday, at 9:46 pm. He was 8 lbs and 21 inches. I was in labor for over 26 hours with Dan by my side the whole time (and Pam was there for most of it as well, which was so comforting). At 9:00 pm I was dilated 8 cm but it was taking about 2 hours for each cm and I was to the point of pure exhaustion, so we decided to do a C-section. Since we met our little Jack in the OR, we have been in love.

This is the first picture we have of baby Jack at 32 weeks. (I love this picture because he looks just like his daddy does when he sleeps.) Now we are waiting to take our first picture of him "on the outside." Dan and I are taking walks everyday to speed up his arrival, but he must be nice and cozy as he shows no signs of starting his journey two days after his due date. So...we will be inducing him Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. and he will probably make his arrival April 19th, his daddy's birthday.

Already he has received tons of phone calls and texts asking about him. Countless are praying for him...our beautiful little blessing.
